Pape N'Diaye and the Ndaje School
of African Arts, Inc., a 501 (c)(3), is
bringing the culture and spirit of
Africa to Boston in this fun-filled,
three-day celebration! Complete
with a live theatrical performance
featuring master musicians and
dancers from Senegal, Guinea, Mali,
and the United States, this festival
will allow participants to experience
traditional West African drum and
dance classes taught by world
renowned artists, taste traditional
West African cuisine and indulge in
the variety of authentic African
clothing, crafts and accessories
brought by festival vendors!

Afrcan Dance: from Traditional to Contemporary

Pape N’Diaye - Contemporary Dance Solo - NightmarePape N’Diaye
is a master dancer, instructor and choreographer from Senegal, West Africa and has toured throughout Africa and around the world. Since 1989, he has danced with numerous world-renowned companies, including the National Ballet of Senegal:  L’Aliguère du Senegal, Cinquihme Dimension, Compagnie Jant-Bi, Ballet Sinomew, Forêt Sacrée, and the Manhattan Dance School. He has extensive training in all styles of traditional West African dance as well as in contemporary dance forms. A dynamic teacher, Pape N’Diaye is responsible for training many noted sabar dancers in Senegal, and he is known in the US for teaching high-spirted djembe, kutiro, and sabar dance classes.

Pape N'Diaye is also the lead vocalist in the new African contemporary music band, Doomou Africa. This group's ecclectic sounds can be dowloaded at the following link:

Pape N'Diaye is the Founder of the Ndaje Festival of African Music and Dance, held annually in Boston, and the Executive Producer of the New York New Year's African Dance Festival in NYC!

Les Enfants du Soleil

BOSTON - JUNE 27, 2009  @ 8pm

This summer Pape N’Diaye introduces Les Enfants du Soleil, his new African dance company.  Les Enfants du Soleil is a powerful ensemble of master African dance instructors from Guinea, Mali, Senegal and the US. On June 27, 2009, the company will grace the stage for the first time at the Ndaje Festival of African Music and Dance, as it embarks on a national tour across the country! Keep checking this site for location and ticket details -- and tell your friends!
