Ndaje Festival Concert "Never Dishonored" Saturday, June 28 - 8pm @Mainstage Theater 1234 Columbus Ave. Roxbury, MA 02120
The annual Ndaje Festival Concert, produced and choreographed by the Pape N'Diaye is a live theatrical production featuring dance artists and musicians from West Africa and the US. Inspired by the story of the legendary Lat Dior, the King of Cayor, Never Dishonored combines African contemporary and traditional African dance movements to depict the strength and nobility of the people of Senegal.
Tickets: $20 in advance, $25 on June 28th
About Artistic Director, Pape N'Diaye: Pape N'Diaye, from the National Ballet of Senegal, is a master dancer and choreographer, with extensive training in modern, jazz, and African contemporary dance. Also a former member of le Compagnie Jant-Bi (Senegal), he is one of the most celebrated new dance artists in Boston, teaching weekly sabar and djembe dance classes in Cambridge, MA, and providing choreography for a number of Boston African and modern/contemporary dance companies including Kinodance Company, Harvard Pan-African Dance and Music, and MIT's African Dance group. Ndaje Festival Party Saturday, June 28 - 10pm
The Ndaje Party brings together the traditions of West Africa and America in a post-concert celebration that you will not want to miss! Like a traditional African Doundounba or Sabar party, there will be live drumming, dancing and appearances by all of the Festival artists! There will even be a few surprise performances! Also, in true American fashion, a live DJ will provide a mixture of reggae, hip-hop, and afro-pop music to have everyone dancing to the beat!

From the Airport (BOS): Take the city bus, Silver Line T to South Station in Boston, MA. Then, follow the train directions below.
By Bus: Take a bus (Peter Pan, Greyhound, Chinese Lines: Fung Wah and Lucky Star) to South Station in Boston, MA. Then, follow the train directions below.
By Train: From South Station, take the Red Line towards Alewife and exit on the Central Square Stop (5 stops from South Station). You will be on the corner of Massachusetts Ave. and Prospect St. Walk one block west on Massachusetts Ave. to Temple St., turn right, and walk a 1/2 block. The Cambridge YWCA will be on your left hand side, between Massachusetts Ave. and Bishop Allen St.
By Car: From Mass Pike (I-90) Take the Brighton/Cambridge exit (Exit #18 if traveling eastbound, and Exit #20 if traveling westbound) onto Cambridge St. towards Cambridge/Somerville. Keep straight as the street name changes to River St. Make a left onto Green St. (left turn signal) before Massachusetts Ave. At the second block, turn right onto Sellers St. Make another right onto Massachusetts Ave, and a left on Temple St (first left). The Cambridge YWCA will be on your left hand side, between Massachusetts Ave. and Bishop Allen St. Street parking.

Vendor Space
This year's Ndaje Festival is expected to draw in hundreds of people from cities across the nation. Become a part of the celebration by selling your pan-African products and services at this annual four-day event.
To reserve your spot, submit your VENDOR APPLICATION by June 14, 2009. You may also include any supporting documents (brochure, web address, price list, etc). Send applications via email to ndajefestival@papendiaye.com with the subject: Vendor Application 2008.

Vendors will be selected and notified via email within 1-3 business days of their email submissions. A non-refundable payment of at least 50% of their total vendor fees will be due at that time.
